KARACHI: The stock market remained range bound on Tuesday with the KSE-100 index closing marginally in the positive, up 28.58 points or 0.10per cent to 29,676.41.
The market started out on a recovery mode with KSE-100 index accumulating gains as investors were encouraged by the healthy inflow of foreign portfolio funds the earlier day.
However, the confusion over the developing political scenario soon overpowered investor sentiments who decided to take profit.
Foreign investors added $3.54 million worth stocks to their portfolio on Tuesday with major inflows of $2.1m in banking sector and $1.4m in food sector.
Trading volume declined 40pc to 133m shares on Tuesday from 224m shares the earlier day with volume leaders from the second and third tier stocks, save for Pakistan Petroleum Limited and Engro Foods.
