KARACHI: Pakistan’s total liquid foreign exchange reserves amounted to $22.8 billion on Sept 9, down 0.54 per cent from a week ago, the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) said on Thursday.

According to a statement released by the central bank, SBP’s liquid foreign exchange reserves decreased by $211 million to $17.8bn compared to $18bn in the preceding week.

The SBP made payments of $296m on account of external debt servicing during the week.

Net foreign exchange reserves held by commercial banks amounted to a little over $5bn on Sept 9 after increasing by 1.7pc over the preceding week.
