LAHORE: Punjab Finance Minister Dr Ayesha Ghaus Pasha said on Monday that the provincial government would soon issue a notification regarding withdrawal of 19.5 per cent tax on mobile internet.
Mobilink and Telenor have already imposed the controversial tax while Ufone, Warid and Zong are still waiting for a clarification from the government.
To a question whether the tax already charged would be refunded, the finance minister said it may also be worked out.
The Punjab chief minister had announced withdrawal of the tax after his meeting with the Punjab Revenue Authority (PRA) officials on July 29. The PRA on May 28 issued an SRO imposing 19.5pc tax on mobile internet and data service, including 3G and 4G.
