Investments of all commercial banks stood at Rs5,959.104bn in the week, depicting an increase of 3pc over the preceding week’s figure of Rs5,786.001bn. Investments of all specialised banks stood at Rs26.851bn in the week, against the preceding week’s figure of Rs26.495bn.

According to the weekly statement of position of all scheduled banks for the week ending July 3, cash and balances with treasury banks of all scheduled banks decreased by 1.78pc to Rs770.204bn, against the earlier week’s figure of Rs784.202bn. The current week’s figure is higher by 14.8pc when compared with last year’s corresponding figure of Rs670.956bn.

Cash and balances with treasury banks of all commercial banks stood at Rs767.297bn in the week, against the preceding week’s figure of Rs781.198bn, depicting a fall of 1.78pc. Cash and balances with treasury banks of all specialised banks stood at Rs2.907bn in the week, against the preceding week’s figure of Rs3.004bn.

Gross advances by scheduled banks stood at Rs4,597.242bn in the week under review, showing a rise of 0.45pc over the preceding week’s figure of Rs4,576.806bn. When compared with last year’s corresponding figure of Rs4,221.2bn, the current week’s figure is higher by 8.9pc.

Advances by commercial banks also rose by 0.45pc to Rs4,443.679bn in the week, against the previous week’s figure of Rs4,423.951bn. Advances by specialised banks stood at Rs153.563bn in the week, against the previous week’s figure of Rs152.855bn.

Total assets of all scheduled banks stood at Rs12,555.31bn in the week ending July 3, higher by 1.23pc over the preceding week’s figure of Rs12,402.583bn. The current week’s figure is up 21.6pc when compared with last year’s corresponding figure of Rs10,325.401bn.

Total assets of all commercial banks stood at Rs12,357.766bn in the week, depicting an increase of 1.22pc over the previous week’s figure of Rs12,209.178bn. Total assets of all specialised banks stood at Rs197.544bn in the week, against the previous week’s figure of Rs193.405bn.

Borrowings by all scheduled banks increased by 9.13pc to Rs1,378.227bn in the week under review over the previous week’s figure of Rs1,262.884bn. When compared with last year’s corresponding figure of Rs681.072bn, the current week’s figure is higher by a massive 102.36pc.

Borrowings by all commercial banks rose by 9.35pc to Rs1,349.953bn in the week, against the previous week’s level of Rs1,234.554bn. Borrowings by specialised banks stood at Rs28.274bn in the week, against the preceding week’s figure of Rs28.329bn.

Deposits and other accounts of all scheduled banks went up 0.64pc to Rs9,199.796bn in the week ending July 3 over the preceding week’s level of Rs9,141.126bn. When compared with last year’s corresponding figure of Rs8,085.702bn, the current week’s figure is higher by 13.78pc.

Deposits and other accounts of all commercial banks stood at Rs9,167.845bn in the week, against the preceding week’s figure of Rs9,110.784bn, showing an increase of 0.63pc. Deposits and other accounts of all specialised banks stood at Rs31.951bn in the week, against the previous week’s figure of Rs30.342bn.

Other liabilities of all scheduled banks stood at Rs437.06bn in the week under review, against the preceding week’s level of Rs465.429bn, showing a decrease of 6.1pc. When compared with last year’s corresponding figure of Rs369.078bn, the current week’s figure is higher by 18.42pc.

Other liabilities of all commercial banks declined by 6.36pc to Rs415.102bn in the week over the previous week’s figure of Rs443.384bn. The current week’s figure is higher by 31.73pc when compared with last year’s corresponding figure of Rs315.122bn.

Net assets of all scheduled banks stood at Rs1,288.67bn in the week ending July 3, against the preceding week’s figure of Rs1,268.57bn, depicting a rise of 1.58pc. The current week’s figure is higher by 30.3pc when compared with last year’s corresponding figure of Rs989.07bn.

Net assets of all commercial banks stood at Rs1,174.36bn in the week, higher by 1.52pc over the preceding week’s figure of Rs1,156.751bn.
